Letter Writing
We have been learning about communication methods used in the past and present. We integrated our persuasive writing skills to write a letter to our families to convince them to buy us a gift we really wanted. We had to come up with 3 reasons with supporting information to ‘convince’ our parents to purchase their request.

Persuasive Writing
K1B have been learning about persuasive writing, and different ways to convince a reader that their opinion is correct. We explored some persuasive techniques used in print media, such as advertisements in magazines and catalogues. We designed an advertisement for a real or imagined toy and used a variety of techniques to persuade the shopper to purchase their product. Take a look at their amazing work!
Farewell Miss Holly
K1B said farewell to one of our Kindergarten friends, Holly. We will miss her smiling face 🙂 We made some special cards to tell Holly the things we will miss about her, and to wish her well at her new school.

K1B have begun Reading Buddies with 2W each Tuesday.
Reading Buddies is a program where older students are paired with younger students for one-on-one reading time. The program aims to develop reading skills and enhance self confidence, academic performance and a love of reading.

National Parks Visit
We were very lucky to finish our ‘Living Things’ unit with a visit from Gary from National Parks and Wildlife. He talked about many Australian animals, and provided us with an Aboriginal perspective into living, hunting and eating off the land.
